Description
WS2812 RGB LEDs are a lot of fun and are great for making colorful light displays, indicators, and more. These individual LEDs measure 5 x 5mm and are often referred to as 5050 packages. Each LED has its own integrated driver and is individually controllable. LEDs can be chained together to create larger displays and lighting effects using a single Digital IO pin from a microcontroller! These LEDs are intended to be soldered to circuit boards like our 5050 LED Breakout, however it is possible to solder fine wires to each pad for use in scale models and other applications.
The 5050 package is large enough to solder with a pencil-type soldering iron or soldering station with a fine tip, though it can take a little bit of practice!
