Description
The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ enables you to connect M.2 peripherals such as NVMe drives and AI accelerators to your Raspberry Pi 5’s PCIe 2.0 interface. This allows fast (up to 500 MB/s) data transfer to and from NVMe drives and other PCIe accessories. The Pi 5 is equipped with a single-land PCI Express 2.0 interface and this board is designed as a bridge between the FPC connector on the Pi and more common M.2 edge connector.
The HAT supports both the 2230 and 2242 M.2 standards and is capable of supplying up to 3A to connected M.2 devices. Since it conforms to the new HAT+ standards, the Pi can autodetect the presence of this board (provided your Pi 5 is running the latest firmware). If you are using the Active Cooler, the included hardware will clear the cooler and allow both the HAT and cooler to be used without conflict.
The kit includes the HAT plus all of the needed accessories – just supply your own M.2 device and you are ready to go!
