Description

A PIR motion sensor is a type of motion sensor that passively monitors infrared light in its field of view. When the sensor sees a change in the level of infrared light, it interprets this as motion. These sensors are commonly found in in a variety of common products – from Alarm Systems and Outdoor Security Lighting to those fancy Room Occupancy Sensing Light Switches.

This is the smallest PIR sensor we carry – the sensor element itself measures just 10mm in diameter and 10mm in depth, with the total length including the PCB measuring 34mm. Motion can be detected at a range of up to 3 meters with a 100 degree field of view.

Input voltage is wide ranging – it will take anywhere between 4.5 an 20VDC while the output is both 3.3V and 5V logic save. When motion is detected, it will pull the output pin high.
