Description

A diode is a simple circuit component that basically restricts current flow in one direction. Diodes are often used for reverse polarity protection (to prevent damage to circuits when a battery or power supply is plugged in backwards), to protect circuits against back EMF (high voltages created by inductive loads such as motors, solenoids, or relays), or basic rectification (creating DC voltage from AC voltage)

This diode is rated to 1A and 50V. As with most standard diodes, this will have a 0.7V drop in voltage when used.

Features

  • 1N4001 Diode
  • Reverse Recovery Time: 2µs
  • DC Reverse Voltage: 50V
  • Average Rectified Current: 1A
