Joysticks are a popular method of enabling human control of your project! This ideally sized joystick is very similar to those found in popular game console controllers. These joysticks also have a “select button” (momentary pushbutton) built in as well – pressing down on the joystick will activate the button.
Since the joystick is not particularly easy to mount, we have added it to our own breakout board complete with mounting holes. The four mounting holes are M2 compatible and measure 29 x 19.9mm center to center. The 5-pin header breaks out all 5 pins from the joystick in a standard 0.100” / 2.54mm pitch format compatible with Dupont and other common cables.
