Description
This incredibly tiny electret microphone measures just 4.5mm across and 2.75mm tall and can be used to monitor sound in the range of human hearing (20 – 20KHz). It uses a small vibrating element to convert sound waves into an electric signal. This signal measures a few millivolts from peak to peak and will require an op-amp to boost the signal to something useable.
The microphone has very fine pins on the back – these can be formed to fit into a standard 0.100” / 2.54mm pitch protoboard or perfboard.
