Description
This anemometer is the same sensor found in our Weather Meters set and can be used as a replacement part or as a stand-alone unit. These high quality weather proof sensors measure wind speed with a magnet and a reed switch. A wind speed of 2.4km/h (1.492 MPH) causes the switch to close once per second.
The anemometer has a short cable terminated with a 6P2C RJ11 connector. This normally plugs into its companion wind vane – but it can also be connected to an RJ11 Breakout Board and hooked up on its own. The sensor is wired to the two center pins of the connector.
Normally, this sensor fits onto a mounting bracket within the Weather Meter Kit; however, it can also be mounted on a vertical post with a 13.5mm diameter.
