These high quality ferule crimping pliers are designed specifically for crimping ferules. Ferules are a specialty crimp on connector pin used to terminate stranded wire in screw terminals and other clamping connectors. Stranded wire is much harder to keep tight in these types of connectors due to the multiple strands vs. solid core wire. With enough heating/cooling cycles or vibration (or some combination of both) they can work loose over time causing a high resistance connection. Ferules prevent this by securely bunching the wire into a crimpled solid casing.
These crimpers will work with ferules sized for 7AWG down to 23AWG wire and feature an auto adjusting ratchet. No need to adjust for each size, just crimp and move on. Ratcheting tension can also be adjusted using the tension screw on the handle.
