Description
This line following sensor is equipped with 8 reflectance sensors that allow it to detect lines and edges based on the change in IR light reflected. The sensor is intended for short range detection and is best suited when there are large differences in reflectance (Black tape on white paper). The sensor also features MOSFET control of the IR emitters for easy power conservation. The sensor is powered with 5VDC and output from the sensor is in the form of 5V logic, one output pin per sensor. The tight alignment and number of sensors allows for fairly accurate line following and helps keep a more direct path along a line.
