Looking to give your project that professional finish? For those times when you need to have a detachable way of supplying AC power to your project – this IEC320 C14 socket may be the answer. These are the same style of connector found on the back of most monitors, computer power supplies, HDTVs, and projectors – so it is likely you may even have a few extra cables laying around, and if not, we carry the mating 5-15P to IEC-C13 Cable as well!
The socket is designed to panel mount through a 31.5 x 27.25mm hole. 2 screw holes measuring 36mm center to center can be used to fasten it in place. On the back of the socket three large solderable tabs are labeled for Line, Neutral, and Protective Ground. When connecting these we recommend using heat shrink to minimize any areas of exposed high voltage.
Unlike basic C14 sockets, this version also features an integrated inline fuse holder. The design of the fuse tray allows for it to be changed without access to the inside of the enclosure, and requires no tools. The fuse tray also has space for one spare fuse. These use a standard 5x20mm Fuse.
