Description
PIR motion sensors are a great way to sense motion and are typically found in those all too familiar in alarm systems and on outdoor security lights. A PIR motion sensor passively monitors infrared light in its field of view. When the sensor sees a change in the level of infrared light, it interprets this as motion. This miniature PIR sensor takes it one step further and integrates an output driver circuit, allowing it to power a device or light on the detection of motion. On detection of motion, the output will be held in the “HIGH” state for approximately 30 seconds. The driver circuit can handle up to 150mA, enough for a few LEDs or to trigger larger relays for high current / high voltage loads.
The Fresnel lens is removable to make installation as easy as possible. Simply drill a 10mm hole and install the lens. The sensor can then be re-inserted from the other side, keeping the mounting hole as small as possible.
Hookup:
- Red = VCC in
- Black = GND in
- White = Output +
- Yellow = Output –
